KappAhl’s stand point on cotton from the Xinjiang Province

KappAhl is aware and very concerned about the reports of human rights abuses in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China which have contributed to an increasingly untenable operating environment. Therefore, KappAhl has taken the decision that no cotton from that area can be used for production of our orders as we strictly prohibit any type of forced labour in our supply chain.

For the time being, all cotton intended for production of KappAhl Group products that is sourced from the Xinjiang Province, People´s Republic of China is banned. The ban involves cotton fibers grown in, processed or otherwise produced or manufactured in the Xinjiang Province.

We hope that with this manifestation of ban we will contribute to better and more healthy working conditions for all workers involved in cotton production. We are looking forward to the days when we again can start sourcing cotton from the Xinjiang Province.
